The Hair just re-examined this Corman produced directorial debut of Peter Bogdanovich. The Hair had forgotten how powerful and unique this film is. TARGETS is a dark examination of a darkening America. TARGETS is also clever and even funny at times. Boris Karloff turns in a lovely performance. karloff's comedic double-take at himself in the mirror is easily worth the cost of this already buget-priced DVD alone. His bitch-slapping at the film's finale is also powerful and poignant. Bogdanovich's direcotrial talents are ones that are great yet inconsistent if one cares to look at his body of work. It is interesting to see where it all began. His commentary track is, as always with him, interesting and entertaining. He is one of the last great thoughtful filmmakers and historians. The Hair applauds Peter Bogdanovich.
