I remember watching Ed Nelson on TV (the Mike Douglas show?) telling the host how he was one of the operators who sat inside the giant crabs. The mental compulsion aspect is also kind of fun. They used to show it on TV with a scene from the middle preceding the opening credits, kind of a teaser. The only true mystery is that our very lives are governed by dead people...Kazanian in Dario Argento's INFERNO

I must say Corman gets a LOT into an hour: an anti nuclear thesis, mind controlling giant crustaceans, the professor from Gilligan's Island, the late Mel Welles, a love triangle, intentional and unintentional humor. Missed a slew of William Wellman films the other day, dammit. TCM is showing HAXAN at 2am, & I'll try to stay awake long enough to hit the Record button.

Ahh, it's still early, only flashing twelve o'clock!<< Well, on my DVD recorder step one is that the machine is supposed to automatically lock onto the Atomic Clock or the local PBS station & access the time automatically. It never has. Hence I cannot time-shift... or Do The Time Warp or whatever...

When it works, the auto time set is slow. i guess that PBS broadcasts the time signal once every few minutes, and I've had to wait some time for it to work. So tune that channel and give it a chance.
