This is my first feature. I co-wrote, co-produced and was creative director for this film. I intended it as a deconstructed slasher film, so there are a lot of
fantasy elements and stylized gore. I know some on these boards aren't crazy about slasher movies, but this one is quite different. Lot's of irony,
laughs and commentary on the genre. At any rate, I could use your support as I find myself firmly engaged in the dream of moviemaking. RED VELVET is a
mainstream horror movie that I've tried hard to craft artfully. The movie features Henry Thomas, Kelli Garner and our own beloved Carol Ann Susi! Coming

well. Casey has told me all about the effects end of it, and I'm so glad to see Carol Ann Susi in the cast. I only wish Richard were here to see this grand

RED VELVET was screened twice during the SUNDANCE festival, but only privately for distributers who requested it. At the moment, we're in the happy
situation of taking our time to pick the right company to show our movie. With so many horror distributers and many new, innovative forms of distribution,
it's a crowded landscape. All I know is that I am excited for all of my friends to see it! I could use your feedback on the website in general as we are
developing it and lots of fun RED VELVET products.

Joe, I cannot tell you how proud I am of you and your accomplishments, and I am sure Richard was aware that you were working on the film also was happy . He
would also be so happy you used CAROL ANN. I look forward to seeing it , and please keep posting updates here. Also, if you feel like posting photos. We go to
press in march for the first issue, so perhaps you can get us some info for the premiere of SCARLET as well.

I WILL ! In fact, I'll put together some exclusive behind-the-scenes shots of our dearest Carol Ann (whose birthday was Feb. 2nd). Every time I have a
triumph or learn a great lesson, I think of Richard. Like so many of you, Richard was so encouraging of my work. He was always proud of any accomplishment but
never surprised. He consistently made me feel as if I was SUPPOSED to succeed.

We finally got an opportunity to screen our feature, RED VELVET for a theater full of true horror fans from WonderCon in SF and the response was overwhelming!
Screams and applause at the bloody stuff. Laughs at all the punch lines. It was so gratifying to our 3MAC STUDIOS team. Thanks to everyone who has been
supportive. It looks like the folks we made this film for are going to receive it very well. It also looks like we're going to be making more movies. Yay!

beaten path and with something for everyone. If it wasn't inappropriate to Monster Bash, I'd screen it for all who will be there. Maybe I can set a

I'm very much looking forward to my trip, Joe. For those who didn't see my post in the travel section...
My next flight (courtesy of Delta) is just 'round the corner, actually, and I'm mightily looking forward to it. I'll be in Los Angeles to attend an advance screening of Joe's new film, RED VELVET. It is a true honor and a privilege, with memories of KILLA VANILLA still fresh in my mind. That was a truly, truly magical evening. Word of mouth has been so enthusiastic so far, in fact, that I'll probably be inspired to pen a review. RED VELVET seems destined to give the genre a much-needed shakeup and take the world by storm! It's always an inestimable pleasure to be able to support a dear friend in his creative endeavors as well. I'm sure there's not a person here who's not been touched by Joe's warmth and humanity in a profound sense; I can say with personal certainty that Richard harbored these sentiments as well.
