Shoot! I would love to see the two Ed Wood Films on Dec. 16, but I have a matinee performance (as Charles Dickens/Narrator) in the Stage Coach Players production of "A Christmas Carol." Otherwise, I could have stayed with some friends, who live in the 6 corners area.
PS: I've been watching some of the Svengoolie's on Saturday nights; I love when Rich Koz gives info. on the various actors in the featured film or about the film itself. I'll agree, we in the Chicago area are lucky to have his show on the air. PPS: Last Sat. (Dec. |

Maleva, I feel sure we can come to some kind of understanding!
Lawrence, you are in luck-- it is the book signing on the 16th. The double feature is not until January 25th! Perhaps you can make it? And I too love Sven's trivia during the show... he puts a lot of work into what he does! (Rich's 'Stooge-a-Palooza' Three Stooges program is sharp too!) |

From Svengoolie's blog:
12/14/2007 Okay, big news for fans of the Svengoolie version of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians- the powers that be have decreed that it WILL air, once again, as a special Christmas treat, on Saturday night, December 22, at 1 am on our sister station Me-TV (broadcast channel 23, cable digital channel 223 in many areas!) Im always surprised by how many requests we get for that movie! Granted, you will see it show up all over the place, since its a public domain film- but you will ONLY see the Svensurround version on our station! If youve never experienced it- please watch, or set a tape or TiVoand see why this is a holiday tradition for Sven fans! www.wciu.com/svengoolie.aspx |

Hi Elizabeth! Well, perhaps I missed something at the sight, but how much will walk-up tickets be for a day? By-the-way, it was great seeing and talking to you (albeit, briefly), last week. Thanks also, for the Stage Coach plug. Even though we had two bad weather weekends, we still had substantial audience attendance.

Hi there, Lawrence! It was good to see you too; perhaps we can meet up to chat sometime. Glad to hear the show went well, and please let me know if you do something like that again-- hopefully I can attend.
As far as I know, tickets are simply $10 whether in advance or at the door. I will confirm, but I think there is just the one price. Hope you can come! |

Quote: Me too, but I wish whoever does his research, would get more facts right (saying stuff like Ygor being the hunchback in SoF, 1934s Black Cat being a middle film in the Boris-Bela teamups, etc, should have been easy mistakes NOT to make ). |

This past weekends Hollywood Memorabilia Show... | ||
|
Hey, I'm back! It's a long story and basically, no one cares...probably! Anywho... I had a great time this past Saturday; spent more then I planned
too. Picked up two movies I've wanted to see for some time- "1984" with Edmond O'Brien & "Ruggles Of Red-Gap", with Laughton.
Also talked to Caroline Munro a bit (about St. Peter and what she thinks of the Windy City Fans, etc.); a very refine lady and still looks good too! If that
were not enough, I got to see and talk to Elizabeth & John from that fab. store of what-ever you are looking for concerning Thrillers (Karloff's term),
Horror and More; Horrorbles.

Welcome back, Lawrence. I think Caroline has a painting in her attic.
It has been ages since I have seen the O'Brien "1984"(WOR -TV in NY used to show constantly in the 1970s). I still wish the BBC could release the restored 1954 Cushing version ,but the Orwell estate is blocking it . |

Invasion of the Body Snatchers Friday July 11th!
Much to our surprise the 35mm print for the evening arrived and it is in CinemaScope! This means that the aspect ratio for projecting is 2:66 (roughly 21'h x 75w) which the Portage can handle on its extended screen! An update to the evenings events. Unfortunately, Mr. McCarthy has had to cancel due to illness. I spoke with Kevin and he is disappointed not to be joining us, to travel at his age with something as minute as a stomach flu could prove troublesome. Understandable. Horrorbles will reschedule to have Mr. McCarthy back as soon as he is feeling better. Join us for a special evening Horrorbles will be playing an audio interview of Kevin that evening as part of the line-up & tribute to Mr. McCarthy. So fret not, this will still prove to be an incredible evening for everyone in attendance! Please join us celebrate this classic film and pay tribute to an Icon of Hollywood Call 708-484-7370 to reserve your tickets for this Friday's event! The Evenings events will start roughly at 8pm. with a Twilight Zone episode, followed by the short film "Clearance" written and directed by James Klein. James has created a beautiful homage to Mr. McCarthy's career in film which will be followed by an audio interview with Kevin. The finale, a beautiful print of "Invasion |

24-hour horror film festival.
