Over the summer i picked up a copy of this at Big Lots for a mere $5, and i just found myself in a serial mood the other morning. Three days later and three chapters in and i'm having fun with this one, what's not to like? J. Caroll hamming it up as the yellow peril threatening the good ole USA, an atom-smashing ray-gun which Bruce Wayne uses to blow up a vase for the sole purpose of startling Alfred (my favorite part so far) , and a helmet like device which turns its wearer into remote-control zombie. Who the heck needs a Bat-mobile when you can have Alfred drive you around in a big ol' convertible. My only complaint, and it's minor really, is the Batman costume is a little off, even for serial standards. A poorly designed cowl and a high-waisted utility belt have me thinking of RAT PFINK A BOO BOO everytime the Batman appears (not that thats a bad thing). It's nice to see Alfred playing a prominent part in the serial and it's quite funny when he blindly sprays a room with bullets as the Batman and Robin fight off Dr. Daka's henchmen. Anyhoo, i'm not the serial connosueir some of you are but i know what i like when i see it and this one is fun in my book.
