It's high time my favorite actor, Christopher Lee, had a folder of his very own. Yeah, I know. He can be dull as dirt when he's not interested. He's not done himself any favors by walking through a number of different films. But, I love him just the same. He was my childhood hero, and I still think he's a better actor than people give him credit for. Limited in range? Perhaps. But every actor is limited in some way. Some more than others, like Mr. Lee? Perhaps, but it seems that what others regard as negative limitations suit me just fine. He's the ultimate cool, rational villain (cf., TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER, MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, et al). And he can be a very charming presence at times. Anyway, I make no apologies. Lee's my favorite of all. What say ye, Scarlet Streeters?
And what do the learned folk here think of Harald Reindl's BLOOD DEMON (aka CASTLE OF THE WALKING DEAD and THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM [!], 1967), in which Lee plays the ghostly Count Regula. It's one of my favorite Euro horrors, and creates a very chilling, fairy tale ambience on a limited budget.
