Posts: 123 Mar 27 09 8:28 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm not having much luck with my recordings. Maybe it's time to step up to a DVD recorder. I put in a tape to record Call Her Savage, stood in front of the set-up to manually start the tape and then walked away to make some breakfast. Little did I notice until getting up to turn the tape off that the machine rejected a brand-new tape and spit it out. Oh well, should be on again in about three months.

Posts: 18192 Dec 7 09 10:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Although Kay Francis is suitably attired as a stage star in London in the 1935 Warner Bros. film, "I Found Stella Parrish", she is suddenly confronted with a terribly dark secret from her past and runs off to America (read New York City) to hide with her daughter and a newspaper reporter (Ian Hunter) on her tail. Although "I Found Stella Parrish" isn't exactly a pre-code film, when Francis' secret is revealed, she is one "hotter than hot" babe. Francis was a very interesting star and could certainly carry a film.

Posts: 475 Sep 27 11 12:51 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just saw the complete Bela Lugosi Hollywood On Parade short for the first time--been watching the Lugosi footage for years--and saw for the second time in as many months Dorothy Burgess. And I want to see more. I had earlier watched her in Out Of Singapore as Noah Beery's half-caste island gal (she's great and gorgeous) where she makes the technical leading lady disappear into nothingness, and seem to recall Mr Hanke praising her for a similar turn in Black Moon from the same year. I don't know how typical of her output those two smoldering 1934 performances are, but her brief appearance in the Lugosi short reels with sensuality and sexiness. I want to see more.
