I've been spinning bucket loads of Elvis Costello, in anticipation of seeing him in concert on October 15th. Some tracks in particular - You Belong To Me,
I'm Not Angry, Six Fingered Man, Bedlam, Oliver's Army, Sulphur to Sugarcane and (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, brilliant summertime music.

No music during the summer because I ride public transportation. The exception are road trips. Last weekend for PulpFest I played several Kinks CD's: THE
VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY, LOLA Vs. POWERMAN AND THE MONEY-GO-ROUND - PART ONE, PERCY, and LOW BUDGET. This morning started out with The Righteous
Brothers THE MOONGLOW YEARS, bits and pieces of Peter Gabriel's Greatest Hits, Phil Collins' Greatest Hits, and The Police's Greatest Hits, before
the kids won out and we're now hearing a BBC radio dramatization of THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE. If none of you ever hear from me again,
you'll understand why.

I highly recommend this highly facetious article on the remasters, which begins:
Like most people, I was initially confused by EMI's decision to release remastered versions of all 13 albums by the Liverpool pop group Beatles, a 1960s band so obscure that their music is not even available on iTunes.

Listening to Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys' LIVE, FROM AUSTIN TEXAS. It was recorded in 1975 for AUSTIN CITY LIMITS but was too risqué and
politically incorrect for TV. I'm not sure why they thought they could ever televise A*****E FROM EL PASO or THEY DON"T MAKE JEWS LIKE JESUS ANYMORE.
Also, I'm reading THE LOVESONG OF J. EDGAR HOOVER by Friedman and featuring NYC P.I., Kinky Friedman.

Been listening to Mark Knopfler's new album, GET LUCKY. Some gorgeous melodies. Very laid-back and relaxing album. Perfect for the autumn.

Not familiar with Nox Arcana (probably my bad). I do recommend Midnight Syndicate. Very atmospheric music for your October wanderings. Won't replace your classical mix , but give them a listen. Nice people, too.
You say "Wicked" , like it's a bad thing.

Has anyone else heard Christmas In The Heart, Bob Dylan's new Christmas record? This is one perverse, surreal, hilarious piece of wonderful! 'Must Be
Santa' is possibly the oddest recording I've ever heard. Bob Dylan sings a polka version of a Christmas carol. There are seven things wrong with that
last sentence!
