Watched ISLAND OF DR MOREAU last night, good film, Basehart is unrecognisable under the makeup, but his distinct voice is so commanding. Hope to watch MANSION OF THE DOOMED and HOUSE ON TELEGRAPH HILL next week.

Good god! I thought I rather liked a few Joseph Losey films. In retrospect, I can boil it down to two. THE GO-BETWEEN (probably due to the presence of of Julie Christie and Alan Bates) and ACCIDENT. MODESTY BLAISE is sort of disjointed fun, too.

Aside from his short film adaptation of "Tell-Tale Heart" I have yet top see a Joseph Losey film that works for me. And I have yet to figure out just why.
