			<description><![CDATA[ Anyone else purchase the new dvd for Double Indemnity, that rich Wilder class where Stanwyck and McMurray each out-do the other for playing against type?<br>One helluva film -- but mildly disappointing package. Yes, the extras were known before buying, but loading one extra disc on me with ONLY the TV version of Double Indemnity (starring Richard Crenna!) seems a terrible waste of metal. Where's the bio on Wilder, or Stanwyck? The ol' viennese director was lucid and barking until his late 90s... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Kind of a wacky title to throw in this section, but I finally saw Human Gorilla, a.k.a., Behind Locked Doors (1948 )  today.<br><br>I had seen this packaged as a horror film before and I figured it was some cheesy, poverty row type of film.  It stars Richard Carlson and features an appearance by Tor Johnson.  I wasn't expecting much out of it but it was actually surprisingly good. 			<description><![CDATA[ I didn't see it mentioned here yet, but there is a new dvd of "Scarlet Street" coming out from Kino on November 22nd. Just in time for Thanksgiving!<br><br>I read on a film noir message board that its supposed to be from a nice print from the Library Of Congress. No idea if that's accurate or not, but I sure hope so - every dvd of it out there right now pretty much sucks. This is one of the great noirs that really deserves to get a good dvd release.<br><br>I checked on amazon and they do... ]]></description>
