spoofs of the crime genre have featured analogs of various series. Obvious example; Murder By Death, with counterparts of Miss Marple, Charlie Chan, etc.

People often think of around 1920 to around 1939 as the Golden Age of Detective Fiction. The Nicaraguan government seems to agree, since when they commemorated
the founding of Interpol, they released stamps of famous fictional sleuths of literature (ones who had debuted in literature), and only three of them did not
debut before 1920 and none debuted after 1939.

So, I tried to think of what would serve as the Silver Age of Detective Fiction, if any fictional sleuths had gained...

While walking around one day in the inner city, I walked up a flight of steps for a bit of exercise. I saw people dressed up for a Harry Potter film. I
realized that in less than 10 years, six Harry Potter films had reached theaters, all (so far as I know adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books).

An unfortunate observation occurred to me: could I name a detective story (or least conventional, non-paranormal thriller) author who had done something

incommon with Sherlock Holmes. Only the first episode has been broadcast over here so far, but I found it very enjoyable, desite the frequently ill-fitting,
vaguely Edwardian-looking costumes. At the moment, I'm looking forward to episode four, in which Murdoch joins forces with Arthur Conan Doyle, played by
Geraint Wyn Davies....
