Here's one that's been bugging me for years. Who supplied the electrical devices in Poverty Row efforts like "Voodoo Man" & "Charlie Chan in the Secret Service"? I've seen the same gadgets in several Poverty Row films & they don't look like any of the ones made by Kenneth Strickfaden.

I 'm hoping to get a Poverty Row "Survivor" game going by Friday. I've culled 80 titles from the first two volumes of Turner & Price's "Forgotten Horrors," which can be seen courtesy Sinister, Alpha or the beloved Mega-Packs. A British dealer is selling a 8mm print of this movie that COULD be the complete version. He certified that this print wears the British title, "The Mystery of the Mary Celeste" and NOT the US title. Apparently it's a Blackhawk print. The price is 79,99.
If it's truly the complete version, with all the sequences which were removed for the US release, it could be interesting for a little company wanting to release a complete video. But... it's 8mm, not 16. I don't know if the...

Several pd titles are available for download onto I-pod.

Several titles which sound like horror films are not( DEVIL FISH is really an adventure drama with stock footage and the title creature is a Manta Ray) but several fun films are out there-
like WHITE ZOMBIE ,
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD....etcetera.

These come in handy when stuck in traffic on a bus due to the Xmas holidays.

Nice to see Alpha doing some Tod Slaugher stuff on DVD. Not fantastic prints (at least MARIA MARTEN MURDER IN THE RED BARN isn't brilliant) -- though they are probably the best prints available.

In the morning New York newspaper, AM NY ,on 10.19.04, it's ANIMAL REPORT section reported a MONSTER FISH that biologists have dubbed FRANKENFISH!!!

They report it is a Northern Snakehead, whcih can survive in Oxygen depleted water,move from pond to pond, and destroy native fish.

It must have seen the movie Frankenfish by Mark A.Z. Dipp! Can he sue the fish??

Anyone remember this masterwork? The Hair does. Saw it at the drive-in back in the day. And just again a few minutes ago on an import DVD of questionable quality.

Anyone here have any thoughts to share regarding said masterwork?

Just got the Rhino disc of this no budget 1965 Ed Wood scripted howl and it looks terrific, Gorgeous transfer from really nice elements. Some of Robert Caramico's lighting effects and compositions recall Mario Bava and the colors themselves are delightfully luminous. Hello,

I am new to the board and am glad to see this is such a productive place with such notables as Ken Hanke.

I wonder if someone can refer or let me know where I can find this film called 15 Wives. It is a forgotten horror from 1934 and features Margaret Dumont as one of the prime suspects! It is not available at Sinister or some of the other obvious places.

Not to be confused with the Joe Spinell slasher of 1980, this 1934 excercise in insanity has to be seen to be believed. I didn't quite know what to expect from this the first time I watched it, but I'm so glad I discovered this little treasure. Basically, the plot involves the mad Dr. Meirshultz who has invented a chemical capeable of reviving the dead. With the help of his asisstant Maxwell, a former actor who specializes in impersonations, he manages to revive a dead body in the morgue....

The Hair recently had the honor of lunching with Mr. Rollin in Paris.

Mr. Rollin is a very pleasant and generous man. His production stories are wonderful. A testament to his vision.

The Hair has long been a fan since CAGED VIRGINS (Requiem For A Vampire) appeared at the $1 movie in The Hair's hometown in the mid 1980's.

Are there any other Rollin fans here at SS? Any thoughts to be shared?

Anyone else seen this z-grade horror film? It's one of my favourite "so bad it's good!" movies. A great shame that the DVD version has been shorn of the song 'Popcorn' (removed due to rights issues), but it's still an entertaining way to spend an evening with like-minded buddies who enjoy bad movies.
